Excellent food and service. Very expensive.. We've been to this restaurant at three times to celebrate different occasions. The food has always been excellent with an outstanding service. All three times we've has gift certificates for $25.00 dollars and the total amount of the food and drinks has ranged between $99.00 to $110 dollars for two people... Very expensive.

Seriously.. Don't Get Married Here.. When me and my fiance decided to postpone our wedding we had already put down a large deposit for the day. Although the contract stated the deposit was non-refundable for a cancellation, most other venues will hold your full deposit for a postponement even though their contracts state the same things. This company however is ruthless and only cares about your money. When asking how much would be put towards a future event they could only offer 10% of that price. So I decided to throw a much smaller party only to find out 3 days before the party that in order to get that 10% I had to spend another $1000. The whole experience was unenjoyable and I feel tricked. Total waste of my time and energy and will NOT be re-marrying there or ever even attend a meal there. To those considering getting married there, do your research first and seriously consider looking somewhere else.

Best Wedding Venue. We recently got married at the Briarhurst and it was fantastic! We chose the Briarhurst because a friend of mine had gotten married there and because my husband and I had eaten there several times and loved the food.

From start to finish my experience at the Briarhurst was outstanding. Janice, our coordinator, was fantastic. She made it very easy for us to plan and I felt ready for the wedding when the day came. Janice and the Briarhurst staff take very seriously the services they provide. They were professional, organized and totally committed to ensuring that our wedding experience was the best it could be. I did not have to worry about a single thing.

The Briarhurst has a wedding contract that is very detailed and clear. As I was making my plans, I contacted Janice from time to time for verification of what I could and could not do and she answered all of my questions quickly and consistently.

Everything at our wedding was PERFECT. No kidding. There is a "Table Captain" that works to make sure absolutely every thing you need is taken care of. Everything from center pieces to special ceremony "props" to....well, everything. I loved the experience and would do everything exactly the same way again.

I highly recommend The Briarhurst Manor to anyone who is getting married, having a reception, a large party or any function that requires attention to detail and fantastic food.

On a side note, I just read a review that talked about the changing bathroom being small and the fact that it was a public restroom. I would like to comment on that.

The contract is very, very, very clear. The wedding contract goes through every single item that one might need to ask about. In addition, there is a checklist that the Briarhurst coordinator reviews with the bride/groom - this point by point checklist is initialed by both parties to ensure that every detail of the contract has been reviewed and is understood.

Having said that, the contract and the checklist actually tell you that you can arrive at the Briarhurst (in my case, for a 6:30 pm wedding) at 4pm. I had until 4:45pm to get dressed and take pictures inside as guests arrive for dinner at 5pm. I knew that the bathroom would be a public bathroom at that time and I would have to remove my personal items by that time.

All of the fees are clearly outlined in the contract. If there is something that is not clearly understood, as with any contract, it is up to the person signing the contract to ask questions. Nothing is a surprise. The Briarhurst even sends an estimate well in advance to help you understand what the charges will look like.

The experience of the previous reviewer is not even close to my experience, nor does it resemble the experience of some of my friends who have also been married there.

Thanks for reading and good luck finding a great venue. The Briarhurst is a must when you are considering where to go.

A wonderful experience everytime. We have been going to this wonderful place for many years. Not as many years as the place has been in business; its been around a very long time! The food is always good, the staff is polite, curious and profession, but not stuffy or snooty. We choose to have a modest wedding reception a couple for years because we have always enjoyed having dinner at this Victorian charmer. Everything came of without a flaw; well that's not true. My wife and I made some last minutes changes that spoiled the timing of the evening, but Briarhurst staff came to the rescue and none of our guests knew about the confusion we created, Thank you Briarhurst staff!

Dont get married here. Very disapointed with the wedding services. At first everything seemed great but once that contract was sign problems started coming up. There were alot of hidden fees. We were contracted for 2400, but thats not including, Set up, Chairs, Gratuity, tax, wedding fee and bar. We wanted to do a $100.00 bar tab for our wedding party and they wanted to charge us 200 for the bartender. To set up some simple chairs, they charged us a $100. This strange wedding fee (i still dont know what it means) is $5.00 a person, so the bigger the wedding the more you spend. You hvae to get the wedding cake from them and thats $9.00 a person.

Also for the rehersal our wedding planner didnt even help, she was there but did not tell us anything on what to do or where we walk from. The wedding planner works at the Briarhurst so i figured she could at least give us some direction on what to do, but we were left fending for ourselves. Also, we showed up 30 minutes early to start setting up and they kicked us out until the designated time. There was no one there so we were forced to wait in the parking lot for them to say we could come in and set up.

The food was ok, not worth $30 a meal. And the staff took the top portion of the cake and served to our guests, we were not allowed to take the top peice home, i was very upsest about that. They made us get ready in a very small bathroom, about the size of any normal household bathroom, it was hot and very cramped. We were told to get ready in this certain bathroom, but the Briarhurst failed to tell us that is was a public restroom, So the other guests had to use our bathroom whcih had all of our personal belongings in, very embarassing knowing that stangers had to go the the restroom next to my bra!. Unbelieveable.

The briarhurst stays open for dinner during the ceremony, so when I was all dressed up in my gown, they led me through the dinning room past everyone that was eating to get to the door where i was to walk from, it was very embarassing. I never dreamed that on my wedding day i would have to walk in a dinning room full of stangers and interupt their meals. So embarassing. You would think with suge a big facility they would people ither guests in an area where they wont be in the way of the wedding.

The Briarhurst has read some of my reviews about this terrible day, They didnt even care I was upset, they only offered me gift certificates and offered to make me a new cake since they didnt serve it properly. What am I going to do with a 50 person cake. They also wanted me to clarify some things

The 9 dollars a person is not just for the cake. Its for the cost to make the cake, cake cutting, coffee and tea, I find this funny because the coffee and tea were never offered to anyone of my guests. My parents were dying to have somthing besides water (which was never filled)

Also they threw a fit about the $100.00 bar fee. Basically if you want to put any money down for some our your guests or bridal party to have drinks you have to make it worth the bartenders time by paying the $100.00 gratuity, it does not going to your bar tab, its a tip.

The wedding fee goes for the whole set up and gratuity, So not only do you pay 22% (27% if you dont make your payments on time) for gratuity but you pay an extra $5 bucks per person so they can get more cash out of you.

I urge you to look elsewhere for your wedding. This place will only make things harder for you, and I want your day, whoever you may be, to be better than mine. Cheers Sarah

Manitou Springs: A beautiful mountain town with unique dining. The Briarhurst Manor in the heart of downtown Manitou Springs is a hidden treasure! My husband and I have been going for years for special occasions and we always recieve wonderful service! My husband loves the game entrees offered and I love their unique salad ideas. They even have small plates if you would like to create your own exotic meal! The dining room is definetly for a night when you have a lot of time because most people choose to due several courses to the meal. Everything is ala carte so you get to pick what you would like to have for each course! The building is a victorian lovers dream! It is well maintainced for being built in the late 1800s and we are told it has certain charms that have been restored! The chef has had a local artist even recreate the gargoyles that once sat above the roofs of the building! When attending a friends wedding over the summer I was impressed at the "fine dining" atmosphere for a large banquet and how nice and attentive the service staff was. The garden outside has apple trees and I even think I caight a baby deer run across the lawn at some point. The buffet was the most upscale presentation of its type and they even had vegetarian and vegan options for the pickier diners! The twinkle lights all around must make a bride feel like a princess in a victorian pink castle! Be careful for the entrance! The bed and breakfast next door hides the sign for the Briarhurst but definetly worth the search. If you are on vacation this is definetly a trip to whip out a nice button down and a little black dress!

What more could a person ask for????. The best dining anywhere!!!! Don't miss this delightful treat!!!!!!!! We came back for our company dinner and decided no more stuff hotels for us, the Briarhurst ballroom is the best place for large banquets anywhere... 160 emlpyees and spouses raved of about the setting, the room, the food and service!!!! Don't mist out on the gem and its only 10 minutes from down town Colorado Springs

Classy. I've been dying to dine at the Briarhurst for years. My husband and I finally decided to go for Valentines Day this year. I thought it was lovely. The decor is very classic and historic and it felt like I was whisked back in time. I loved the details like the chef's sampler appetizer and the sorbet to cleanse your pallet. The whole place setting was there and in perfect order. The waitstaff sure had alot to remember during the meal and where they were at in each course with each table. I ordered the Beef Wellington which I would recommend to anyone. Its the best I've ever had. My husband got the salmon and it was set on a waffle. He wasn't too impressed with that. He found it a bit silly. I told home it was a fancy touch, but it didn't seem to appease him. Neither did the fresh exotic vegetables, but I enjoyed the new flavor. Overall, this place is major expensive so go on a special occassion. We did get very muddy in the parking lot and I have a pair of shoes by my backdoor that are still sitting there covered in mud.

Boring. Another old and boring restaurant for colorado springs. It is time for something new and special. This is just another old landmark building someone decided to put a restaurant in. The only thing going for it is the banquet facilities
