The Scene
Built in 1919 as a boarding house for schoolteachers, this property was transformed into a cozy B&B in 1990. It sits at the foot of Pike's Peak in quaint Manitou Springs, and serves as a base for exploring the nearby Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, U.S. Air Force Academy and U.S. Olympic Training Center.
The Details
Arriving guests are treated to home-baked goodies and a bottle of Manitou Springs' sparkling mineral water. This hospitality provides a telling prelude to such personal touches as work by local artists hanging on the walls, and delicious three-course breakfasts served in the dining room. Each of the four bedrooms on the inn's second floor is furnished with antiques, including one of the home's original double bedsteads.
