A quaint hotel in a small, 19th-century mining town that's often used for movies and commercials.. The Scene
The streets were literally paved with gold during Victor's 1890s gold rush heyday. Today it's still the site of the largest gold-mining operation in Colorado. Folks come here for a variety of reasons. They can drive the Gold Belt National Scenic Byway, visit the Florissant Fossil Beds and gamble in the casinos of nearby Cripple Creek. As well, they can simply enjoy clean air at 9,780 feet.

The Details
The hotel is housed in an ornate, four-story former bank building. Of the 20 plain, comfortable guest rooms, 10 on the third floor are non-smoking and 10 on the fourth are smoking. The bed configurations are simple: one queen or two doubles. Each room has a private bath. A hearty breakfast is served in the Victorian-style lobby. The staff is friendly and endlessly accommodating, however the pace at this hotel and in this seemingly frozen-in-time mountain town is very slow.
