Horrible Customer Service. I went to this restaurant as a treat for my husband's birthday dinner with the family. There were about 10 people in our party. The waitress we got actually made fun of what my husband ordered. She asked him how he would like his steak cooked and he requested rare. She first said, and I quote, "Ewwwww!!!" That was followed by her asking my husband if he would like her to bring the cow out to the table so she could beat it to death for him here, and serve him the piece of bloody steak. She felt this was hilarious and went on with additional jokes about blood and cannibalism because of this steak. This was so embarrassing. I could not believe this was really happening. I thought it was perhaps a birthday joke, but I was wrong. This was her idea of great customer service. I was next to order and I was afraid of what her comment would be if I didn't order fried chicken because I am African-American. She is too and I'm not saying this to sound racist, but the waitress would not give me her name (of course). I am WARNING anyone that goes to this location about the service she provided me. So in closing, I would recommend if you are going to go here, NEVER EVER order a rare steak at this location.

Tasty home-style meals and down-home kitsch abound at this family-friendly restaurant chain.. In Short
Though its country decor has been modernized by sleek table lamps and wall hangings, what arrives at the glossy wood tables is nothing but down-home, classic comfort food. Crusty chicken-fried steak with white gravy, slow-cooked pot roast and meat loaf can be paired with the restaurant's namesake vegetables and come with a homemade biscuit. Sweet fruit cobblers, served in a bowl or cup with ice cream, are what Southern grandmas are famous for.

great food and service. we really enjoyed our visit to the black eyed pea at garden of the gods, the server helped us by offering "tasters" of certain food items such as the soup and the cobbler to help in making a selection!!! only place that used to do that wasan ice cream place with pink spoons. really enjoyed it!!!
