We don't eat in anymore as our children are young and it's a small restaurant with a pretty quiet atmosphere. But we do get takeout from here around once a month and the food is always delicious! We are dissappointed that the place has changed hands several times over the last few years and we currently don't have a relationship with the management, so I can't speak for their service, staff etc. But even through the changes their food has stayed consistently great! We've had their classic curries, vindaloos, tandoori, khadai & korma chicken, as well as most of their vegetarian dishes and all have been excellent! Thick rich sauces with lots of flavor!! I highly recommend it!!! Definitely better than Taste of India and Mirch Masala!!
Dowdy atmosphere, crazy service, food o.k. to good. I am an Indian food freak and have been here about 12 times over the past 18 months. The quality of the food varies quite a bit, sometimes excellent and sometimes mediocre. One of my favorite dishes (Masala Dosa) is sporadically available, seeming to have no consistent pattern. Other South Indian dishes on the menu are not available. The servers are highly untrained, spraying windex on the neighboring tables' glass tops while ignoring my gestures to refill my cup of "chai." One night the waitress greeted us, and served us, in her coat because she was cold! On another occasion, lunch, I was quite disturbed by a loud table of unruly children and their indifferent adult companions, the management did nothing to assuage this decidedly unpleasant atmosphere. I do not think I will return to this restaurant.
Changed owners!. I visit India Garden infrequently - my last visit was in November 04. I was disappointed to find out that their ownership has changed and so has their menu. I asked our waitress about a picture of some sort of bread that we were interested in ordering, and she had no clue what it was, and shrugged her shoulders. Not exactly the best Indian food I have had here in the states, but it suffices.
