WORST SERVICE EVER (TWICE!). For my first appointment I had to wait 45 minutes for my stylist. She did a good job so I stupidly made a second appointment and when I arrived 10 min. before the scheduled appointment I was told that they had me on their books for a different time and that the stylist was all booked up - this was the day before Thanksgiving. Their front desk staff are too busy chatting with each other to pay any attention to clients and have trouble keeping track of time or appointments. I will never go back.
Totally Worth the Price!.
I've tried several salons within the Colorado Springs area and have never been happy. I was apprehensive about coming in because of the previous reviews however, I decided to give it a try.
From the moment I walked in I was "wowed". The front desk was welcoming and friendly and the tea was delicious! My stylist Becky came and got me promptly and listened to what I wanted, but gave suggestions.
I left with the best color and cut I have had in a long time. I felt very relaxed and comfortable while there. Definitely will be back! :)
I LOOOVE VEDA. I finally went to try the place out to get my hair colored and cut. My stylist Angela truly was THE BEST stylist I have ever gone to. She was very patient and gave me a great scalp and hand massage while my hair was processing! My color and cut turned out even better than what I expected. I already have my next appointment to go back and see her. I would highly reccommend Angela!
Not worth the $$$. Last August I went in for a cut /color. I only get my hair colored three times a year so my hair doesn't fry. I asked for a entry level stylist because it is so expensive. For $110 I got color dumped on my head and my hair came out white blond. My scalp was burning and she left it on for 45 minutes while she started other customers. It was too blonde. I asked her just to touch up my roots and she dumped it all over my head. As the year went on my hair started breaking and falling out! I'm a young woman that shouldnt be losing her hair. Ive never damaged my hair ever. I know that Aveda did this. She left it on way too long. Ive lost half of my hair to prove it. Hair cut was nice.
Go To Tony And Guy!. I have gone to veda salon for two full years. Same hairstylists and everything. My husband was coming home from Iraq after a 15 month deployment, so was my friend kelly's husband. I decided to get my hair done and so did Kelly. Kelly was just coming in for a touch up on her roots, and I was coming in to get my hair dyed. My hairstylists Kayla (southgate veda) left the toner in Kelly's hair for 45 minutes. Which that turned her hair two different colors. Her roots were ash blonde and the rest of her hair was golden blonde. They decided to use three different treatments on her hair to get it one color. while she was getting that done Kayla started working on my hair. I wanted something different this time. Kayla suggested to do underneath brown and the top blonde. When Kayla got done with my hair, I really liked it from what i could tell from their lighting. Then, kelly came over and her hair ended up being blonde, brown, orange, and tints of green. Kayla said to give it three days and if you still don't like it come back. Kelly left the salon crying. When, I got home I noticed that the roots were still brown and the blonde was really patchy. Kelly and I went back in three days later and they fixed Kelly's hair by REDYING it..which that is hurting your hair even more. Kayla put toner in my hair, which it started burning after 20 minutes..but she told me it is suppose to (WRONG ANSWER). When she got done, my hair looked better again in their lighting. Went home to look in the mirror and my roots were strawberry blonde now and the rest was tinted green and blonde. Called her again and she wanted me to come in so she could do a color rinse. I looked up the color rinse and it only last for 8 washes. I told her and the manager I wanted my 140 dollars back. . They will still not give me my money back and now my hubby is home. I recommend everyone to go to Tony and Guy. They do an awesome job. Definately worth the money!!! Your only spending a few dollars more then veda.
Great service and cut. I got a great trendy hair cut and I am extremely picky.I was a little worried about the front desk people after reading the reviews, but I did not that problem. My appointment was scheduled immediately along with an explanation that the stylists are at 3 different levels of experience/training and charge 3 different prices. I selected one with the middle range of experience. The day of my appointment the front desk lady greeted me promptly and gave me a card for a complimentary scalp massage (the massage was given during my hair being washed and was nothing impressive, I have had good massages in the past). But I went for a great hair cut and that is what I got, along with a nice style for $40. When I paid for my cut the 2 receptionists were friendly and told me they loved my hair. Looks like things have turned around with the staff there. I give them an A++++++++++ highly recommended, I will go back!
Worth the quality haircare. I have been going to Veda for six years now. After getting several shabby, average haircuts at other salons I was ready to fork up a little extra money for a quality style that I would be proud to show off. The front receptionists are nothing to exclaim about, they are inconsistent and at sometimes rude, but I am not there to see them. Since I have been going to the salon I have been with two stylists and both have been fabulous. My current stylist is Lindsay who has been cutting my hair for the last four years. She always cuts it exactly the way I want it and lets me know when I might be making a decision that won't flatter my features. I feel that my service has always been amazing and I always leave at least a 20% tip. If you have a bad experience at Veda, maybe you picked the wrong stylist, ask for someone who will give you the kind of cut you want, whether it be funky, edgy, conservative or whatever. When you find a stylist who matches your needs you will really enjoy what the salon has to offer.
Great Esthetician, Bad Reception Area (minus a few who care).
I have been a client at Veda for several years. My esthetician is the best there is out there, hands down. She is friendly, skilled, timely, brings a great atmosphere, never complains, and the list of good stuff goes on and on. However, I can't say very many good things about the front desk staff, minus one specific receptionist. The front desk is down right rude. The only exception you will find is a lady named Alyssa who is just fabulous. She takes wonderful care of you, is friendly and accommodating. I actually try to go on days when she is there just so she can take care of me.
I have complained about the front desk staff on numerous occasions and it still does not get better. Every time I call I am immediately put on hold since the front desk is so busy. There are many times when I just hang up the phone after being on hold and take my business elsewhere. One time I put the phone on speaker in my office and decided to work until they picked up the phone. I actually forgot that I did this since a lady spoke up and said "Thank you for holding" after 9 minutes. I just laughed and told her that I forgot I was on hold and since they took so long, they were not worth my money for the week. I have had to call and reschedule appointments and the receptionists are just down right nasty. They are lazy since they only offer water/tea to me only 1 out of 4 times. When scheduling my appointments one receptionist slaps the reminder card on the counter and doesn't even say thank you or anything.
The only reason I put up with the horrible staff is because my esthetician is fabulous. If she ever decides to leave the overpriced place, I will definitely go with her. But I may leave before she does since I am tired of the rude and bitter receptionists. It is very unfortunate that the only thing that is keeping me there is only one esthetician. Not the management, horrible receptionists, un-relaxing atmosphere, & overpriced services.
exspensive hair done quite well.
I have found the front desk people to be very unfriendly to the point of they are so.... much better than the rest of us.
Maybe they are there for their own pleasure and not indeed to help us mere customers who I might add are paying a premium to be condesended.
I do hope that this reveiw is read by the owners of the establishment as I am not the only person to think this.
Their new location on Academy is more freindly but the aucustics in that locations are not good, my head ached by the time I was finished with my appointment.
So I am on the look out for a friendly Salon, I need all the hair services that Veda offer but do not need the fancy location or attitude!!!.
