Another pretentious diner that is nothing special.. I ordered a Turkey and Avocado sandwich and it showed up with NO AVOCADO... Lame place. Poor service. Poor food. I do not go there anymore. They lost me right away. Don't waste your time or money on the stupid decor cause the food sucks.

Black Bear does not Honor their coupons. My son and his family and I went to your restaurant to have lunch on July 29th. We chose Black Bear because it is a family favorite, also because my grand daughters had earned a certificate for a free kids meal. We were seated and the server came over to take our drink order. The server noticed the coupons and told us they were no longer honoring them (they were NOT expired). We asked to speak to the manager, who came over after a few minutes. When she came over she simply stated that, "yes, we no longer are honoring those coupons". No explanation, no apology, no offer of any thing else to win our business. My grand daughters earned these coupons through the library, they read 20 books to earn their certificates.

The fact that your restaurant chose not to honor these coupons, and the EXTREMERLY unprofessional attitude of the manager caused us to leave the restaurant.

We had three adults in our party, we would have spent upwards of $30 for our lunch. Would it have been so diffucult to honor those coupons? I have five children, who all have families, seven grand children, with another on the way.

Do you realize the amount of money losing our patronage over the year, as well as the "word of mouth power" that we have has cost your restaurant.

My grand daughter is a cancer survivor who speaks and in active at many community events. How do you think this made her feel?

How likely do you think we, as a family, are to reccommend your restaurant.

A sorely disappointing experience.... thought needs to be given to how to correct this probelm. At the least, your manager should be trained in customer service, which is sorely lacking.

Disgusting.... I use to work at this resturant and after working there I WILL NEVER eat there again! The serving staff make the salads with their bare hands, and they eat food off of plates before they take them to customers... I was told that I would wash my hands too much. Also, trays are not used to carry plates, so the servers thumbs go into the food constantly! This place is effing disgusting.

"Best Buy" in Colorado Springs. I was appalled to read the only review ("One Star") in this space. Whoever this person is, they have never been to the Black Bear Diner, or they ARE the competition.

Whenever my wife and I think of a place to go for a hot, home-cooked meal, we always think of Black Bear Diner. We especially like the Breakfasts.

For example, the last time I went (2/14/09) I got a huge grilled ham steak, a ton of country red potatoes, and three eggs scrambled, with two big pancakes. (Cost? Less than $10.) My wife had a veggie-type omelette with hash browns and an English muffin. (Cost? less than $9.) All the above were fresh and perfectly prepared, even the English muffin. Hot chocolate with yummy whipped cream has one free refill !

We have been to the Black Bear Diner many times in the last few years, and have always been delighted with the amount and quality of the food, the fast and friendly service, and the reasonable prices.

(Also, try the hamburger for lunch and the "Comfort Dinners" after 4:00. GREAT STUFF!)

And, by the way, I am NOT affiliated with Black Bear Diner in any way. In fact, my User Name IS my name)

Thanks for your time!

Worst staff, especially the 2 female managers. The food was terrible and arrived cold. The server was more interested in horseing around with her coworkers than refilling drinks and taking orders. When we tried to speak to the curly haired female manager she was rude and unprofessional. This place will never make it unless some serious changes, especially the management, occur. Stay far, far away!
