Marvel at the majestic contrast between the Rocky Mountains and colorful eastern plains.

In Short
The same majesty that inspired "America the Beautiful" captivates visitors as they stand on the summit of this peak. Ironically, the person after whom the peak was named, Lt. Zebulon Pike, was unsuccessful in his only attempt to climb the mountain. Pikes Peak can be reached by road, hiking trail or cog railway. Also, be sure to bring along plenty of warm clothing; the winds blowing atop this 14,000-footer can be bone-chilling, even in summer.
MAGESTIC even from the Springs

Pikes Peak is awesome, a place to 'peak' at each and every day. Unless your behind a hill or some 20 year old trees, it is visable from the whole region, even from Denver. A real sight from southbound Federal Blvd., while passing Loretto Heights. No place, icon, nor person can be confused with this master of majesty, truly America's Mountain........take a peak!
