Old time fun

I have not been to the Stagecoach in years, what a huge difference. This is a family friendly restaurant in Manitou Springs. We ordered the Fried Chicken and Stagecoach Drivers stuffed steak. Both were served hot and flavorful. Our waitress was nice and prompt. I was not brave enough to try the Rocky Mountain Oysters but I heard they were good. We finished dinner with a hot Cherry Cobbler with vanilla ice cream. This is not a fine dining restaurant but if you are looking for home made food at a reasonable price in the mountains this is the place for you.
- Pros: food, ambience, service
- Cons: parking

I wasn't impressed. For the price, there are much better places to go.

Every time I have been to the Stagecoach (4 times) I have had an issue, but decided to give it one more try. Never again. Everytime I ordered a burger I asked for medium well and received rare. Asked for fries and received chips. When I asked for the fries I ordered, they finally arrived after everyone else was done eating. Service is very, very slow. Had to ask for refills. Need to find a new place to frequent in Manitou.
- Pros: Bristol Beer on Tap
- Cons: Service and Orders Frequently Messed Up
Expensive for mediocrity

My extended family and I visited the Stagecoach Inn for the second time yesterday and did not find this to be a family friendly experience. Our children were treated to some very expensive macaroni and powdered cheese out of a box and a corn dog that was not even all-beef as you would expect for the price. My husband's burger was was very rare instead of the medium-well he ordered and my taco salad was bland and not at all the quality of ingredients one would expect for the price. The service last time was one of the reasons we decided to try the restaurant again, but it was not nearly as good as our visit last summer. Both the hostess and the waiter were very friendly, but we had to ask for every drink refill. Because there were seven in our party, a 20% gratuity was added to our bill. We would normally tip that much for good service, but it seemed as if the waiter did not make any extra effort as he knew we would have to tip. Next time we visit Manitou Springs, we will be dining elsewhere.
- Pros: friendly staff, ambience
- Cons: expensive, mediocre food and service

So, there we were, trying to find a decent steak place in this area that wasn't part of a chain. We went to the Stagecoach Inn and ordered wine, beer, cheese sticks, biscuits, steak and prime rib.
My steak was cooked just right, was a good cut and very flavorful. My companion's prime rib was good, though she did comment it didn't have a lot of flavor and required some dipping in the au jus.
A good dinner, very reasonably priced. My only disappointment was the biscuits. They were cold on the inside and hot on the outside; while I realize that biscuits aren't always baked fresh, and some reheating does happen, these were like lead weights.
Yuk!

My husband ordered the fish; it rivaled Mrs. Pauls. Mine wasn't much better. Very overpriced. It was packed though-didn't see the attraction. It was kindof cute; nothing I'd go out of my way for though.
- Pros: Kind of cute
- Cons: $$$$/quality
