Try The IPA!

by ownu at Citysearch

The menu rarely changes, but these guys do a fantastic job. The craft beers are great and there's even a little something to please the vegitarian.

I beg you to try their IPA. It's one of my favorites!

  • Pros: Great for small groups.
  • Cons: Not for dining couples- too loud and crowded.

BEST PLACE TO EAT, DRINK & BE (MARRIED!)

by deezy7 at Citysearch

I could write a novel on the novelties that Phantom Canyon has..... but I won't, I'll settle for a short story.

So, we planned our wedding to be officiated and held at Phantom on their third floor banquet facility. It was easy having the wedding and our reception here as well. I highly reccomend it!

It was last January 4th, what a day. Beautiful sunshine in Colorado..... besides marrying my wife, having our event at Phantom was the other best decision! We had the most organized planner ever.... I can't even say enough how the staff worked with us to make everything go exactly the way we dreamt it to.

Heather was awesome, Travis orchestrated the grand finale of food delivery with incredible ambiance and attention, Chef Scotty created beautiful and mind blowing tasty to the palate platters of Medium-Rare Beef Tenderloin with Horseradish Mashed Potatoes and then there was the Thai Chile Cream sauce over Sesame Crusted Atlantic Salmon with the steamed Baby Bok Choy.

We got married! Everything went perfectly. Everyone cried, everyone laughed. We dined. We danced. We all celebrated this beautiful event, together, with family and friends and my most favorite staff in the world (that I truly feel are my family and friends).

If you are planning to get married, screw Vegas, go to Phantom. It's a memory that I will forever cherish!

  • Pros: Incredible service, food, planning and attention!
  • Cons: It's not in Oregon!

unprofessional staff

by weldersunion at Citysearch

So the last time we visited this place, I was extremly upset by the service! There were 2 chefs loitering near the kitchen, discussing doing illegal substances and events from a drinking party which were not very lunch friendly. My server was nice, however, the chefs should keep the party/substance abuse talk out of the dining facility.

  • Pros: my catfish was delicious!
  • Cons: inappropriate chefs

Over rated "cool place" too be seen...

by bigfish311 at Citysearch

Over priced and understaffed this place is a tourist trap nightmare. If you can make your way through the grungy, tree hugging college kids, good luck. Their microbrewed beer taste a hint like New York sewerwater .(Don't ask) If pachouli is your frangrance of choice then this place gets 5 *****.

  • Pros: Tie dyes and hemp necklaces!
  • Cons: Same as above. <><

Great Food, Ambiance and Beer

by trees77 at Citysearch

For a Brewery they had a great selection of food. Not just bar food and very different menu. The art on the wall was fun and the decor in the restaurant was inviting. Great service with our waitress. Overall I would eat here again.

  • Pros: price, selection of food, atmosphere
  • Cons: none

A must for out-of-towners

by willard125 at Citysearch

Any time guests visit from out of town, we take them to Phantom Canyon. To date, no one indicated not wanting to return.

The menu changes somewhat regularly, and the selections are always great. From the lunch salads to the prime rib, I have yet to be disappointed. The beers are also excellent.

  • Pros: True local establishment
  • Cons: Tables can be close

Love MicroBrews

by velvetrose at Citysearch

Want beer on tap? This is the place. My husband loves IPA and raves about Phantom's. This is a great place to go with the folks for dinner. My parents enjoyed it. They loved the atmosphere, its classic and the food is upscale, but you can have a beer with dinner. This is perfect for my parents. My dad took a tour of the whole building himself just to see the old design.

However, its a great relaxed hot spot if you want to play some pool and have a beer and listen to the juke box. If you go upstairs on a weekend, you will get ID'd at the door, so make sure you have your license or you'll get shot back downstairs, which has happened to me before.

Plus, they do banquets, and I fare that any place that can do a great wedding reception is tops in my book.

  • Pros: Great MicroBrew Selection, Food is Excellent, Cool Place to Hang Anytime of Day
  • Cons: Downtown Parking, Don't Forget Your ID if you Go Upstairs

Fantastic food ... Service with a smile...

by wcsdrums at Citysearch

My wife and I would not normally even try a restaurant like this, but, a couple of friends of ours had their reception here. We were both quite shocked at the level of service offered, and the food. Let?s just say the food was quite a surprise.

Coming from just outside of Annapolis, MD we have had the luxury of eating at the best that Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington, DC have to offer.

I?d be the first person to tell you there are a lot of Restaurant/Brewery combinations in that area, and in my opinion, those that we tried were overpriced and most were a total waste of time and money.

Mind you, the event we attended was catered by Phantom Canyon and was held on the third floor of the restaurant. The food was quite good and was served up with a smile. The servers and bar staff were very eager to please, and I really appreciate that kind of service.

If you are looking for somewhere to have a reception, or any event where a semi-formal room, good food and service is needed.

Check them out!!! You?ll be happy you did!

Oh, try the bar level too!

  • Pros: The food, and the service
  • Cons: If your not lucky enough to get a metered space, It'll cost at least $4 to park accross the street.

One of the most popular bars in Colorado Springs offers meals and local brews.

by Contributor at Citysearch

In Short
The vintage setting here is beautiful, decked out in retro design elements, ceiling-to- floor picture windows and contemporary accents from local artists. Many local diners adore the fare which includes mussels in lime butter, steaks and "maple glazed" pork tenderloin. House comfort dishes are reliable, satisfying choices. Beer choices include a caramel-flavored, richly hopped Cascade Amber, the exceptional IPA and a much-loved Peated Porter.

Great Microbrews

by ambrosgela at Citysearch

The Phantom Canyon is a wonderful location for those who enjoy true breweries. They have quite the selection of handcrafted brews on tap and the food isn't all that bad either. The waitstaff is pretty friendly and the atmosphere is great.
