Five star quality and service - worth every dime!
by legalspiegel
This hotel is beautiful - the rooms were gorgeous, huge bathtubs, double sinks, very nicely appointed. Variety of restaurants throughout the hotel - loved the espresso bar with fresh croissants and delicious coffee. The Hotel Bar has a great outdoor patio with a fireplace. The Tavern is very nice for dinner, especially when the orchestra is playing - great food! Overall, I was most impressed with the quality of service in this hotel - no snootiness here! Only friendly smiles and super quick willingness to help. Will not hesitate to come back and recommend to friends!
- Pros: Beautiful rooms, great service
- Cons: Can get pricy on the weekends

An exquisite, sprawling resort located at the base of southern Colorado's purple mountains.

The Scene
Spencer Penrose--who made his millions in Cripple Creek gold mines--built this grand hotel of pink terra-cotta. The $3-million Broadmoor opened at the foot of the Rockies in 1918 with 350 rooms and swanky amenities, including its own lake, casino, golf course and later, a polo field, rodeo grounds, ice arena, ski area, zoo and Pikes Peak excursions.
The Details
The rodeo and the casino are gone, but the glamour of this hotel has only increased with time. Now, there are 700 rooms to choose from, with accomodations ranging from historic rooms in the main building to a suite in the West Tower overlooking the golf course. All are luxurious; some are downright palatial. Don't miss Maxfield Parrish's dreamy painting of the hotel behind the registration desk or the Tavern with its greenhouse Garden Room.
One of the Best

The Broadmoor Hotel Spa is one of the best we have been to and exemplifies the entire experience at the Broadmoor: relaxation, indulgance. The Penrose Room has a great ambiance, serves incredible dishes and provides impecable service. This is not your value hotel, but you will remember your experience!
- Pros: Spa, Service, Room
- Cons: Price

Relaxing

It's a great place to go visit, even for a day. You don't have to stay in the Hotel to enjoy the Broadmoor's surroundings. I used to go there as a kid to feed the ducks and eat huge ice cream treats! Also check out the fine chocolate store. Yum!
- Pros: Beautiful, Plenty to do., Good Food
- Cons: Expensive

The "hotel of vice"
by andrea621
The Broadmoor is a very beautiful, spacious, and service oriented resort. When we arrived, there was a contingent of police and secret service personnel throughout the property, as the vice president of the United States was staying there! Our room had all the amenities you would expect from a deluxe property. The staff could not have been more helpful, as several of them spent time giving us recommendations, and/or helping us in the many gift stores on property. The grounds are very well maintained, and the fitness center/spa was top notch.
- Pros: spacious grounds, accomodating staff, wonderful mattresses
- Cons: layout confusing, very expensive
