Get it in writing

Get it in writing!!! Our organization chose Marigolds for our quarterly luncheon. We were given a price, chose our menu selections and told that gratuity would be included, We went out to the restaurant to be sure all would be in order for our group of 40-45. We were given a different manager to go over the terms again. And again, we were assured that everything was in order. When we actually got our bill, an additional $200 had been added. We asked to see one of the earlier contact points, but neither was available. I could believe it was all a misunderstanding, until a third manager said, ?you should have gotten it in writing?? When we asked to see the owner, she sent a sample bill which had another $200.00 added which she said she wished she?d have charged?.By the way, the room only holds 30 people which they neglected to tell us!
So, if you?re planning a seasonal party, a shower, or a luncheon meeting, consider another restaurant. If your heart is set on Marigolds, learn from our mistake and GET IT IN WRITING! As for us, we won?t be going again!!!
- Pros: Good dessert
- Cons: We paid more than agreed upon price, were treated shabbily
Good food, poor customer service
by servicecritique at Citysearch
This restaurant had great food that was overshadowed by poor service. I ate with a group of seven early on a Friday night. It wasn't busy, but somehow we were served by two servers that failed to coordinate accepting payment. They never asked us how we wanted to be charged assuming that we were paying together. We were then informed that on top of the 18% gratuity for parties of 6 and above, we would be charged another 2% for ringing us up individually.
We decided to split the check ourselves. The servers did not divide the check as we asked and gave us more attitude than we bargained for. To top it off the manager tried to explain the errors by describing the details of the cash register functions. They have a calculator, so if you eat here and divide the checks ask for it up-front. To save yourself the attitude and cash register lesson divide your check with tax included, but before gratuity. I recommend eating somewhere with better service.

Wonderful Springs Restaurant

Recently had one of the most wonderful meals at a Springs restaurant at the Marigold. Also, a friend brought to our home one of their fruit tarts. Superb!
- Cons: a little noisy
